Refresher Course For Licensed Gas Service Workers

EMA has set up a continuing learning scheme to enable licensed gas service workers to keep up, on a regular basis, with changes in the gas industry, gas legislation, good industry practices and advancement in technologies. All licensed gas service workers are required to attend a prescribed refresher course once every 5 years.

The refresher course will cover changes and highlights in the Gas Act (Cap.116A), the Gas (Supply) Regulations, the Gas Supply Code, Singapore Standard CP 51 Code of Practice for Manufactured Gas Pipe Installation and gas industry best practices. The course contents will be updated from time to time to keep up with changes.

As stated in the circular (RD/G01/2009) issued in Jan 2009, all licensed gas service workers whose licences expire on or after 1 June 2009 may apply for the renewal of their licences ONLY if they have attended the prescribed refresher course in the preceding 5 years.

The prescribed courses will be conducted at BCA Academy and City Gas Pte Ltd (as Trustee) for holders of Gas Service Worker Licence and Gas Service Worker Licence (Restricted) respectively. You are advised to register for the course directly with the relevant course organisers about 3 months prior to the expiry date of your licence.
